Darwin’s 200th Anniversary of What?—
Evolution the 20th Century Killer
Caused Nearly 175 Million Deaths

As Americans celebrated President Lincoln’s birthday, few realized February 12 was also the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth. One wonders why, since a new Gallup Poll shows that only 39% of Americans say they believe in the theory of evolution, while 25% say they do not believe in evolution, and another 36% say they don’t have an opinion.

The same poll observed that 74% of post-graduates believe the evolution theory. You might have an ego problem with many in this category. Why? Many evolutionists seem to possess an air of intellectual superiority. Certainly Richard Dawkins, the accepted high priest of the evolutionist cult, is the epitome of a superiority complex. You can feel his air of haughty disdain for those who disagree with him as you read his latest book, The God Delusion.

Fred Hoyle, the dean of cosmology and a hero of atheistic evolutionists, finally caved in under the mounting evidence of Intelligent Design, sending after-shocks into the halls of atheistic evolution. Then Hoyle did the unforgivable. He attacked Dawkins’ pet theory of chemicals sloshing about in a "prebiotic soup" catalyzed by extreme convulsions of nature and, presto, microscopic life appeared.

Hoyle compared this chance of spontaneous life as equal to a tornado sweeping through a junkyard, then all the debris settled down into a uniquely assembled Boeing 747. Dawkins’ anger bristled as he retorted, Hoyle (a recognized giant in science) "doesn’t understand the first thing about natural selection."

This is par for Dawkins. He has haughtily pronounced that anyone who does not believe in evolution "is, perforce, ignorant, stupid or insane."

Why was Dawkins distraught with Hoyle? Besides personal hurt and anger, Hoyle destroyed the basic premise of Darwinian evolution—an explanation of the incipient beginning of microscopic life. There was always the concept of Darwin’s revered pond of inorganic chemicals and a fluke of nature happened—presto! Life began.

Hoyle said, No way! The mathematical odds of life beginning by chance were absolutely nil. The venerable agnostic evolutionist and dean of cosmology was saying to Dawkins—let’s face it, life requires an intelligent creator!

Evolution Cult Idol Worship

Many of the 75% post-graduates of Darwinian evolutionists are atheists or agnostics. Yet the same principle that the Prophet Jeremiah (10:2-5) observes concerning the stupidity of religious idol worshippers, who cut down a tree and decorated it as an idol to worship, is true of the evolution cult of idol worshippers. To them, the superstitious and uneducated have to create a God in order to explain the seeming mysteries of life and the intricate workings of the universe.

Yet, this self-esteemed intellectual elite are awed with the philosophical breadth of their own logic. Why? They have crafted a philosophical idol so profound that it can explain the mysteries of life and the universe without the superstitious need of God as the first cause. Anyone who doesn’t worship this idol of evolution is considered "ignorant, stupid, or insane."

But those in this evolutionary cult are arrogantly blind to the fact that they are enamored—not with scientific laws, but scientism—an unproven theory that they extol as scientific fact. In reality, it is only an unproven theory no matter how sagacious it might seem in itself.

Blind Faith of Atheists

Atheists and Christians have one thing in common—faith. The atheist cannot prove by fact that there is no God. Facts are established by the five senses. The atheist has to accept this by faith. No less an authority than Richard Dawkins admits he cannot prove there is not a God. But he claims the burden of proof is with the Christian.

True, the Christian cannot prove by fact that there is a God. He has to accept it by faith. But he has a much greater basis for faith than the atheist. We readily accept Dawkins’ challenge to prove there is a God. The Christian Bible contains three unique categories of proof that it is inspired by God—prophetic, historic and scientific.

Over 1/3 of the Bible is prophetic. For example, over 200 prophecies in the Old Testament, written 200-1500 years before Jesus walked on the earth, predicted minute details of his life. As far back as 3000 years ago, the Bible contained remarkable scientific facts that were not even discovered by scientists until the 20th century.

Yes, the Bible meets Dawkins’ challenge and proves there is a God.

"We Are Gods"

But the evolutionary cult persists. "Look, we have crafted a brilliant philosophical theory of intellectual logic that explains the mystery of life, even the secrets of the universe." They persist—"Who needs God? Who needs the Bible? If the human race would just accept our philosophy of evolution and conform their thinking to scientific evolving, then through cloning, genetic manipulation, etc., man can attain the utopia of evolution."

Some go a step further as the Christianity Today magazine observed. Some dare say, "Who needs God? We are Gods. Let’s get on with it." They created their own God—evolutionary progress to utopia—and worship it in the sense of conforming their lifestyle to their evolutionary idol.

Of course, some Christians, who unfortunately believe God is using evolution to develop life on earth, are not a part of this evolution cult.

Evolution the 20th Century Killer

Darwin’s book is only referred to as, On the Origin of Species. What a cover-up. His full title was On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

The subtitle, The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life, indicates Darwin’s racist beliefs. Darwin did on occasion use the word races to apply to animals, but his use of the term races as it also relates to people became clear a few years later with his book The Descent of Man. There, Darwin called those with dark skin "degraded," and wrote that he would rather be descended from a monkey than such a "savage."

Sadly, evolutionists, educators, editors and scientists have set aside a whole year to celebrate a man with a terrible racist legacy. Modern human history has clearly shown the devastating impact of the evolution theory upon mankind. In his book, Out of Control, Zbigniew Brzezinski notes that the twentieth century began as the century of promise and progress.

Yet it "became mankind’s most bloody and hateful century, a century of hallucinatory politics and of monstrous killings. Cruelty was institutionalized to an unprecedented degree, lethality was organized on a mass production basis. The contrast between the scientific potential for good and the political evil that was actually unleashed is shocking. Never before did it consume so many lives, never before was human annihilation pursued with such concentration of sustained effort on behalf of such arrogantly irrational goals."

Wars for world or regional domination and attempts to create totalitarian utopias caused the deaths of approximately "175 million people" in this "century of insanity."

Social Evolution

To understand the unthinkable, the destruction of so much of humanity, it is necessary to discover the philosophical underpinning of those who perpetrated such destruction and horror upon their fellow human beings. The roots of Nazism are well known to have their source in the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche and his theory of the "Superman." Nietzsche’s philosophy in turn drew from the writings of Darwin and Herbert Spencer. Spencer coined the phrases "struggle for existence," and "survival of the fittest." Yet it was Nietzsche who most clearly articulated that evolution showed that strength is the most desired quality and weakness the only failing.

Fascism and Communism

Germany sought hegemony over the entire world because all were considered inferior to the Aryan race. This idea influenced Kaiser Wilhelm before World War I as it later found full expression in Hitler during World War II. The total military and civilian deaths of just these two wars is more than 75 million, including the deliberate destruction of Jews and others in the Holocaust. All of this was justified in the name of "survival of the fittest" and the claimed genetic superiority of one people over all others.

However, this philosophical madness was not limited to the German nation but was the source of the majority of the multitude of wars in the 20th century. Almost as tragic as the World Wars were, the deaths of nearly 60 million people resulted as Communist states sought to create and control perfect socialist societies. Why? Survival of the fittest was Karl Marx methodology for his Communist agenda. Consequently, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao believed that strength and power were essential to survival and should be used ruthlessly, even against their own people who were the weak.

After the grim histories of Fascist and Communist regimes, the same Darwinian inhumanity to man has been replayed in a smaller but no less inhuman fashion in Bosnia, Cambodia, Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan and Congo. Even in the richest of nations, the United States, the principle of "survival of the fittest" can be found pervading its institutions, particularly the financial, industrial and political segments of society. While a democracy ostensibly provides protection and opportunity to all of its citizens, in fact, the rich and influential exercise a disproportionate influence to secure power and control to themselves.

Financial Darwinism

Darwinism inspired the evolutionary force that drove the reckless behavior of those elite rich who got us into our current crisis, from government officials to Wall Street CEOs to real estate speculators to the army of credit card pushers.

As End-Time prophecies predicted, the spasms of trouble (Dan. 12:1; Matt. 24:21; 1 Thess. 5:3) resulted in the collapse of uncontrolled Capitalism, often allied with church-state. Communism and Socialism were then tried and failed. Then Welfare State Capitalism seemed to work for a while, but the population increase with its health care needs sky rocketing, the cost of crime and drug war control spiraling, etc., all required continual tax increases. The people finally said ‘NO!’ to taxes and the cost of government regulations. Uncontrolled Capitalism crept in again, which laid the groundwork for our financial crisis.

Uncontrolled Capitalism is Financial Darwinism. It rewards the ingeniously selfish that are brutally strong and impoverishes the idealistic and naive weak. Alan Greenspan, the former head of the Federal Reserve Bank, observed that he was too trusting and lamented that he did not place controls on Wall Street. But the Darwinian strong would have maneuvered around any controls of the idealistically weak Greenspans.

CEOs and top level executives gave themselves millions of dollars in annual bonuses. The peons of society were sold variable home mortgages that bank executives knew would ruin the Darwinian weak financially, as well as ruin the whole economy. But they would wait it out in their south sea villas, engulfed in luxury, watching the golden glow of the sunset sparking on the rolling waves, waiting for the next round of uncontrolled Capitalism.

But there will be a last round resulting in total collapse. This total economic collapse will parallel a worldwide Darwinian struggle between the politically strong and the seemingly weak masses, who will finally in desperation rise up in revolt. This dual political and economic collapse will usher in the Kingdom of God on earth. The Darwinian drive of the selfishly strong will be stopped. "The meek [not the strong] will inherit the earth" (Matt. 5:5). "Then the Lord will turn to the people a pure language," (the Truth and holy principles of His Word) and the willing and heart dedicated will serve Him in unison. Zephaniah 3:8,9.
