Jordan’s King Abdullah
threatened Israel: The US, European Union, Russia, Vatican, Iran and the Arab nations are determined to force Israel into a drastic land giveaway in order to obtain peace with the Arab nations. The pressure is unprecedented. If successful, Israel would be forced to surrender all of the Golan Heights to Syria and 97% of the West Bank to the Palestinians. Israel already gave up Gaza. Also, much of the Biblical (East) Jerusalem and the Temple Mount could become the capital of a new Palestinian state. First, BackgroundAfter 16 years of Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations, continual violence, Gaza disengagement and two wars, peace has eluded Israel. Following their Gaza giveaway, Prime Minister Olmert and Foreign Minister Livni were ready to cede the Golan Heights and 97% of the West Bank (Samaria and Judea). Finally the Israeli public said enough is enough and voted in a Knesset (Israel’s legislature) majority that opposes the so-called Two-State solution—dividing the land of Israel into a Palestinian State and a Jewish State. But Netanyahu compromised this by forming a unity cabinet including the land compromising Labor Party. Additionally, the Israeli Peace Process has been complicated by the emergence of a bully on the block. Iran’s President Ahmadinejad, obsessed with an Islamic messianic vision of conquering the world for Islam, has threatened to nuke Israel to destruction and likewise deal with the US if it attempts to interfere. Israel, anxious to destroy Iran’s nuclear site, has been restrained first by Bush and now by Obama. The US considers this bombing of Iran a no-win situation. Whether Israel succeeds or not, either way, the Islamic Middle East could be lost to Russia’s influence. The pressure on Israel is twofold: Anti-Semitism and land compromise until Israel is so truncated it could be easily defeated. Anti-SemitismThe world media’s gross distortion of Israel’s surgically clean war against Hamas in Gaza has become the basis of a new anti-Semitism according to a report by the European Jewish Congress. An estimated 1,000 anti-Semitic incidents occurred in January 2009 around the world, including nearly 90 violent cases—three times more than in January 2008. These anti-Semitic expressions were not the classic stereotyping of Jews and Israelis, but rather the abusive use of the Holocaust as a political tool against Israel. The analogy of associating Jewish supporters of Israel with Nazis has become an axiom. The equation “Star of David = Swastika” is intended to underline that just as Nazism has no right to exist, so too should the Jewish State and its supporters be eliminated. What a diabolical ploy! The Jew, the innocent victim of the Holocaust, is now accused of Holocausting the poor Arabs. Where is the world’s out-cry to the worldwide Islamic terrorism that continually maims and kills men, women and children.
“This equivalence has caught on easily,” the report states, “because of widespread ignorance, especially among younger generations, regarding the Holocaust and its uniqueness, as well as the history and politics of the Middle East crisis. Youth and left-wingers are looking for a symbol of evil they can blame all the world’s maladies.” In addition, the report blames the fact that “radical Muslim propaganda, which efficiently enhances the image of the child-killer Jew… has turned anti-Zionism into anti-Semitism.” Duban II—The Reality ProofYou would expect that the keynote speaker for Durban II, the recent worldwide conference sponsored by the UN Human Rights Commission, would be a world recognized exponent of civil rights. Well, guess again. It was keynoted by the notorious President of Iran, Ahmadinejad. For starters, you might expect the agenda would deal with such violations as women in Arab countries being killed for having part of their legs exposed, or being imprisoned for being found in a Moslem nation with a Christian Bible, or about Darfur, a city in Islamic Sudan, where hundreds are being killed every day in ethnic cleansing campaigns. Certainly on the top of the agenda would be Sudan, Congo, Kenya, or even Pakistan in the past where rape is not just a by-product of war but a deliberate military strategy for, among other reasons, to psychologically destroy the enemy. It is extremely difficult to even mention such a delicate subject, but the contrast has to be shown. These are urgent, top-priority, civil-rights violations that demand correction by the UN. But what were “the themes of Durban II: blaming the West, demonizing Israel as racist, foiling efforts to combat Islamic terrorism.” What a sham! The Arabs have the United Nations, over the oil barrel.
Forced Land CompromiseThe US and EU are demanding that Netanyahu’s government immediately pursue talks with the Palestinians. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Israel risks losing Arab support for combating threats from Iran if it rejects peace negotiations with the Palestinians. The EU’s Commissioner told reporters Israel must make clear its commitment to pursue peace negotiations with the Palestinians before ties between Israel and the EU can be upgraded. Israeli newspapers reported President Barak Obama’s post-Zionist Whitehouse Chief of Staff Ron Emmanuel gave the following startling ultimatum to a Jewish leader. “For Israel to receive the administration’s support for preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, it must not only say that it supports establishing a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem and Gaza, it must begin expelling its citizens from their homes and communities in Judea and Samaria to prove its good faith. (Emphasis ours.)
Since Sunni Islamic Arab states like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, fear the day when Shiite Islamic Iran dominates the Middle East, some feel they are counting on Obama to control Iran. But these so-called moderate Arab states also realize that without the Iranian threat, Netanyahu would drag his feet in the Peace Process. One reason Obama so strongly opposes Israel’s bombing Iran is that Obama knows Iran and its worldwide terror proxies would ignite global-wide havoc, which superimposed on the current worldwide financial crisis could destroy the world economic system. The moderate Arab states fear that Netanyahu will grind the Peace Process to a near halt. Far from siding with Israel against Iran, the Arabs’ most moderate spokesman Jordan’s King Abdullah used his Washington visit to threaten Israel. “Israel faces all-out war within 18 months if it does not come to terms with the Arab world and allow the establishment of a new Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem.” He added that threats from Iran and al-Qaeda would fade away once Jerusalem is divided.
Ahmadinejad seemed to confirm this in an interview with the US ABC network. He was asked, “If the Palestinians signed an agreement with Israel, will Iran support it?” Ahmadinejad answered, “Whatever decision they take, we will support that.” The Iranian nuclear threat could end if Israel agrees to the two state peace agreement. Of course, it could also end if Ahmadinejad is defeated in the coming election by a reformer. A report in the World Tribune quoted an Israeli intelligence assessment that said “Obama wants to make friends with our worst enemies and [those who were] until now the worst enemies of the United States. Under this policy,” the source added, “we [Israel] are more than irrelevant. We have become an obstacle. Obama is convinced that appeasing Iran and Syria would make a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan possible.” Consequently, the Jerusalem Post learned that Netanyahu will tell Obama that Israel will compromise on the Palestinian issue if the United States will aggressively assist Israel on the Iranian front. Peace Process HistoryThe late Prime Minister Rabin is considered by the Right as the culprit who started the Oslo Peace Process. But in reality Rabin was more right-winged than all Israeli Prime Ministers that have followed him. Since the beginning of the Peace Process, the writer appreciated the opportunity of meetings in the Prime Minister’s Office during several Israeli administrations. In a 1½ hour meeting with Itzhak Rabin, Rabin confidently expressed that he knew better than anyone else the security needs of the State of Israel, therefore, he was the most qualified to negotiate a peace agreement with Arafat. Rabin’s final two speeches showed he had better perception than any Prime Minister that has followed, including Netanyahu. On May 29, 1995, about three months before his assassination, Rabin gave his final word on the status of Jerusalem to the Knesset. “There are not two Jerusalems; there is only one Jerusalem. From our perspective Jerusalem is not a subject for compromise. Jerusalem was ours, will be ours, is ours, and will remain as such forever.” Rabin’s last address to the Knesset, delivered on October 5, 1995 (one month before his murder), explained his vision for the Peace Process with the Palestinians. Excerpts from Rabin’s speech:
Tragically, Israel has vastly departed from Rabin’s conditions for seeking peace with the Palestinian Arabs that he spelled out shortly before his assassination. Instead of a Palestinian entity, Israel is in a negotiating process designed to lead to a Palestinian State. Instead of insisting on retaining the vital security provided by the Jordan Valley, Israel already in 2000 proposed giving this away. Instead of establishing blocs of settlements, Israel has uprooted Gush Katif, which was supposed to be a model for settlements to follow. Instead of keeping all settlements intact before reaching a final settlement, the Gaza settlements are gone and their residents removed, although a final settlement is as far off as ever. And instead of security control of the borders with Egypt and Jordan, terrorists and weaponry are being smuggled from Egypt. From each and every one of these important conditions laid out by Rabin, Israel has backed away and made huge concessions which have only emboldened terrorists. Meetings with Olmert and OthersPrime Minister Olmert proved disappointing. In four meetings he assured me that there would be no land giveaway for peace. Obviously, he changed his mind and was willing to retreat to the 1967 borders and also divide Jerusalem by giving the Palestinians the biblical Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, if he remained in office. I shared the platform with Netanyahu in Jerusalem when he affirmed there would be no land compromise if he became Prime Minister. Shortly after becoming Prime Minister, Netanyahu gave the Palestinians 80% of the holy city of Hebron, the burial place of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Lieberman, who is now Foreign Minister under Netanyahu, tended to be pragmatic, yet he affirmed the greater Israel concept. He made an interesting observation to explain why the majority of Russian Jews in Israel were against land compromise. He said Russian Jews are used to being part of a large nation and they want to continue to be part of a large nation. Israel’s new government leaders seem committed to Land compromise. World leaders are determined to make it happen. BUT—man proposes and God disposes. Due to lack of faith, God might permit Israel to temporarily lose more land. But the Lord will have the last word on the land issue. Micah 7:11 (NAS) speaks of our day (End Times): “On that day will your boundary be extended.” In past issues of this newsletter many scriptures have been presented to reveal that in a given future war Israel will regain the land she gave away and additionally parts of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, etc. Isaiah 11:11-14; Zephaniah 2:4-10; Psalm 83 Pope Benedict XVI plans to visit Israel May 11-15. We have not dealt with the significant Vatican position in the Israeli—Palestinian dispute. This will be considered in a future issue. Send for your free DVD entitled: “Israel’s Land Rights.” It is an interview with a noted Islamic Cleric who disproves the Palestinian claims to any part of the Land of Israel or the Temple Mount. |
